What to Expect

**Real games. Real reps. No overcoaching.** Thursday Night Lights gives middle school athletes the opportunity to compete, create, and develop through organized pickup lacrosse. These sessions are designed to give players more touches, more decisions, and more opportunities to build confidence in a competitive but low-pressure environment. **Middle School Thursday Night Lights is ideal for players who:** - want more live-game experience outside of practices and tournaments - are looking to build confidence with the ball in their stick - want to improve their decision-making and lacrosse IQ - learn best by playing, competing, and figuring things out in real time - want a fun environment where they can try new things and make mistakes These sessions are about development through competition, not wins and losses. Players are encouraged to take chances, experiment with new skills, communicate with teammates, and learn from the game as it unfolds. Rather than stopping play for constant instruction, GED coaches create the structure, organize teams, maintain a safe and competitive environment, and let the players play. Coaching is kept simple and purposeful so athletes can make adjustments while still learning to solve problems on their own. Live play gives young athletes opportunities that drills alone cannot replicate. Players must recognize space, move without the ball, communicate, react to pressure, and make decisions quickly. Over time, these reps help players become more comfortable and confident in real game situations. Thursday Night Lights is guided by the Greater Every Day standards of effort, accountability, competition, and respect. The goal is simple: help young athletes play more lacrosse, enjoy competing, and leave each session more confident and capable than when they arrived. Maximum of 40 players per session to ensure playing time. Must have an active USA Lacrosse Membership.
